RTI International’s Education and Workforce Development (EWD) unit is
currently seeking a Unit Vice President who is a
thought leader with scientific stature in the education space, has the
ability and interest to procure funding, and who has the leadership ability
and vision to grow the unit within an ever-changing landscape. The
successful candidate will have a blend of subject matter expertise and
management experience along with the ability to establish and effectively
communicate a vision for a large group. The Unit Vice President has both
strategic and operational accountability for the
direction and performance of the Education and Workforce Development (EWD)
Unit.


EWD conducts rigorous studies to assess and help improve the quality of
education from early childhood through adult
education and workforce development programs in the United States. The unit
is well known for conducting large-scale
national cross-sectional and longitudinal surveys in the elementary,
secondary and postsecondary areas. We provide
clear, unbiased, policy-focused research and innovative data tools for
educators, policymakers, and the public.


The ideal candidate is someone who is a known leader and expert in the
education research community and can bring
with him/her a set of existing relationships with potential research
collaborators and new clients. We envision someone
with a record of scientific accomplishment who has also served in a senior
management role. This position can be
located in Washington, DC, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina or
Berkeley, California
