Research Analyst with Evidence Action <http://www.evidenceaction.org/#about>,
an international: We are currently evaluating a project in Bangladesh
focused on seasonal migration and income security, and we are looking for
qualitative research consultants to support the evaluation. I was hoping
that you could advertise this position within the BPC Network. The
consultancy is probably best fit for PhD or grad students with qualitative
research experience. I've pasted the general requirements below my
signature (as well as a short description of the project) and I would
appreciate any help you can provide in helping us find quality researchers.
The link to the TOR and application is here
<https://evidenceaction.bamboohr.com/jobs/view.php?id=137>. Please feel
free to share my information should potential candidates have any
questions. Thank you in advance for your support!

Best,
Natalie

*About No Lean Season*

No Lean Season is a program led by Evidence Action and implemented by RDRS
Bangladesh that provides travel subsidies to rural poor households to look
for temporary job opportunities in urban areas during the lean season, when
few wage-earning opportunities are available locally. Several rounds of
research have demonstrated the benefits of seasonal migration on improving
income levels and food security. Evidence Action is now in the process of
scaling up the intervention to reach hundreds of thousands of recipients in
Bangladesh and beyond over the next few years. This includes improving
understanding of ‘what works’ in implementing the program, what it really
costs, what the constraints are in moving towards further scale -- pieces
of information that will be compiled in a program delivery toolkit to be
implemented at scale in subsequent years.
*Skills and profile*
● At least 5 years of experience conducting qualitative research in
relevant research projects.
● Social and cultural understanding of Northern Bangladesh, as demonstrated
by significant time spent working with the rural poor in the region.
● Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with different
international and local audiences.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
● Fluency in Bengali and English.
● An academic background in social science, international development,
anthropology, sociology, psychology, or related discipline
