*ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, BARNARD CENTER FOR RESEARCH ON WOMEN*



For over forty years the Barnard Center for Research on Women has been on
the forefront of feminist thought and action, addressing current and
sometimes controversial issues at the intersections of feminism and
multiple movements for social justice. The successful candidate will
oversee the day-to-day functioning of the office and will play a major role
in developing the Center’s programming and speaker series, as well as
writing grants and building partnerships locally in New York City,
nationally and transnationally with academic and activist organizations.
S/he will also serve as Managing Editor of the Center’s webjournal, *Scholar

Qualifications include knowledge of issues relevant to feminist movements
and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies; the ability to work closely
with faculty, students and the public; the ability to write for multiple
audiences; good administrative skills; the ability to creatively develop
new and independent projects; Ph.D. preferred and at least a Masters level
degree or five years of relevant administrative experience.
