The *Institute for Public Service and Policy Research* (
http://www.ipspr.sc.edu/) at the University of South Carolina invites
applications for a Research Assistant Professor to serve as Director of the
Institute’s Survey Research Laboratory (SRL). This position will be
responsible for overall direction of the SRL, including maintaining a
program of externally-sponsored research, focused primarily on state
agencies and local governments, and in working with faculty throughout the
USC system and at other institutions to carry out survey-based research
projects. Candidates should also be able to teach courses in one of the
following social science disciplines: criminal justice, political science,
public policy, or sociology. Competitive applicants will have a Ph.D. and 3
– 5 years’ experience in survey research. Salary commensurate with
qualifications and experience.

 The SRL maintains a 45 station computer-assisted telephone interviewing
facility using WinCati interviewing software.
