  Social Science Research Unit Director at the University of Idaho


The Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at the
University of Idaho (UI) invites applications for the Administrative
Director of its Social Science Research Unit (SSRU). The SSRU provides
survey design, implementation, data analysis, and reporting to clients
within the University of Idaho and external to the University.


Position Responsibilities:


The Administrative Director will be responsible for the overall performance
of the Social Science Research Unit.   Duties will include supervision of
unit staff, implement and monitor budgets and ensure client satisfaction;
development, writing and administering grant and contract proposals;
collaboration with University researchers and external clients on project
development, and ensuring high quality and timely project completion by the
unit. Additional duties include development of general study methodology by
discussing research objectives with clients; presentation and explanation of
results to clients; completion of special assignments. The successful
candidate must apply detailed survey methodology knowledge.


Required Qualifications:

1.                               M.S. degree in social or behavioral
sciences, economics, business, public or business administration, education
or related field

2.                               2 years of experience directing survey
research projects and/or managing survey research operations

3.                               At least two years of experience with
project management, including training and staff supervision and
deliverables timeline management

4.                               Experience with financial/budgeting
processes and management,

5.                               Experience developing, writing and
administering grant proposals

6.                               Excellent writing and interpersonal skills

7.                               Problem solving skills



Desired Qualifications:

*                                 Ph.D. in social or behavioral sciences,
economics, public or business administration, education or related field.

*                                 Experience working in collaborative teams
with individuals of diverse perspectives, backgrounds and interests

*                                 Experience working constructively with
others



Salary:



Salary is competitive and will depend upon the qualifications and experience
of the candidate.
