 Research Manager, APCO Insight, Washington, D.C.


APCO Insight(r), the opinion research arm of the global communications firm
APCO Worldwide, is seeking a Qualitative/Quantitative Research Manager to
join its team in Washington, DC.


The Research Manager will be responsible for developing and executing
qualitative and quantitative research assignments on behalf of the
organization and clients. This position is hands-on and core competencies
include research design, development of survey and focus group protocols,
ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collected, and data analysis and
reporting.

A successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task, strong time
management and organizational skills, excellent written and verbal
communication skills, a professional demeanor, be self-motivated, and
excellent computer skills. Three to Four years of relevant research
experience and a bachelor's degree are also required. A master's degree
and/or graduate work in survey research is strongly preferred.

Ideal candidates will have prior relevant research or on-the-job experience
in a mixture of the following:

*       Managing domestic and/or international qualitative research projects
(focus groups and in-depth interviews).
*       Moderation of conduct of focus group and/or in-depth interviews.
*       Familiarity with survey methods and research.
*       Management of large-scale, professionally conducted domestic and/or
international surveys (phone, online, mail, and telephone administration
methods).
*       Proven facility with descriptive and inferential statistical methods
(multivariate analyses preferred but not required).
*       Thorough knowledge of SPSS, STATA and/or SAS.
*       Ability to distill large amounts of data to tell a story and display
data in easy-to-understand ways in tables and charts.
*       Business development including familiarity with the business
development process for syndicated research.
