Westat  has an immediate opening for a senior researcher with a strong
background in child welfare and/or justice system research.

Job announcement: The successful applicant will lead large
federally-sponsored research projects and business development in the
areas of child welfare and/or adult and juvenile justice programs.
Peer-reviewed publications and/or presentations at national
conferences and other participation in relevant professional communities is
a plus.  Applicants must have experience designing and
directing large-scale social science surveys and/or evaluations; a
demonstrated record in leading proposal teams; a strong
background managing budgets; and experience supervising research staff and
mentoring their professional development. The applicant
must be comfortable and adept at leading and facilitating teamwork in a
collaborative environment. A Ph.D. in a relevant
discipline, plus 12 or more years of relevant post degree research
experience, or a master's degree plus 15 or more years of such
experience is required.
