The Division for Research Services at RTI International has an opening for
a Survey Research Project Director. The successful candidate will focus on
business development and project leadership for survey data collection
contracts. RTI has expertise in multiple domains including health,
education, criminal justice, transportation, etc. and the ideal candidate
will demonstrate through prior experience expertise in a particular area
and an ability to build and manage a portfolio of clients and projects in
that domain.

We are ideally seeking a candidate to work out of one our established RTI
offices such as Research Triangle Park, NC, Washington, DC, Portland, San
Francisco, or Chicago, but we are open to candidates who could telecommute
from another location.

*Qualifications*

   - A combination of an MA/MS in a social science discipline plus 6 years
   relevant experience or a BA/BS and 10 years is highly preferred
   - At least 6 years' experience in positions of increasing responsibility
   in social science survey research (Task Leader and Project Director roles
   on large multi-modes studies) including at least 3 years of experience
   in business development, (leading active pursuit of new work and new
   clients and leading responses to RFPs)
   - A curious outlook, a passion for innovation, and a student of survey
   research methods
   - Successful record of obtaining competitive funding
   - Proven track record of thought leadership demonstrated by publications
   and presentations at professional conferences
   - Experience implementing survey research projects with
   multidisciplinary teams
   - Experience in client communications and relationship management
   - Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills
   - To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the
   United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for
   employment visa status.
