*ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SOCIOLOGY *

*Department of Sociology and Rural Studies*

*South Dakota State University*



The *Department of Sociology & Rural Studies *invites applications for a
tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin fall 2017. It seeks a
colleague, whose duties will include teaching *Policing* and *Criminal
Justice courses*, maintaining an active, independent research agenda that
includes peer-reviewed publications, grant activity, and service to the
department. The maximum teaching load is three courses per semester.
Minimum qualification include demonstrated teaching skills and earned PhD
in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or Sociology. Desired qualifications
include: Demonstrated grant experience. record of, or strong potential for,
conducting research and ability to facilitate research projects, record of
teaching criminal justice courses, especially policing related



The Department of Sociology and Rural Studies is committed to increasing
