The 2017 NYU Postdoctoral and Transition Program for Academic Diversity
Fellowship advertisement has been posted and the deadline for applications
this year is November 17th.  The Provost's Office is encouraging us to seek
out possible candidates. This increases the probability of a good “match”
between post-doc and faculty mentor (i.e. the match is established as part
of the application, rather than post-doc).

As you may recall, the Fellows are appointed as “Assistant
Professor/Faculty Fellow”.  This appointment is for two years and begins
September 2017.  Fellows receive a $42,000 nine-month salary, an annual
housing allowance ($20,000), and a research allowance ($2,000).  The
Provost’s Office provides half of the funding and the host
department/School puts up the other half.  The Fellow​s​ typically teaches
one course a semester in the sponsoring department/unit.
