<div dir="ltr"><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif">The 2017 NYU
Postdoctoral and Transition Program for Academic Diversity Fellowship
advertisement has been posted and the deadline for applications this year
is <span class="gmail-m836519776434927947gmail-aqj">November 17th</span>. 
The Provost's Office is encouraging us to seek out possible candidates. This
increases the probability of a good “match” between post-doc and faculty mentor
(i.e. the match is established as part of the application, rather than
post-doc). </span><span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif">As you may recall, the Fellows are appointed as “Assistant
Professor/Faculty Fellow”.  This appointment is for two years and begins
September 2017.  Fellows receive a $42,000 nine-month salary, an annual
housing allowance ($20,000), and a research allowance ($2,000).  The
Provost’s Office provides half of the funding and the host department/School
puts up the other half.  The Fellow​s​<span style="color:rgb(31,73,125)"> </span>typically
teaches one course a semester in the sponsoring department/unit.</span><span></span></p>
