The Brown University School of Public Health is searching for an Associate
or Full Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Behavioral and Social
Sciences.  The position will be available July 1, 2017.  Brown’s School of
Public Health is a newly CEPH-accredited public health school in one of the
nation’s leading universities.  The Department has an exceptionally strong
portfolio of behavioral health and intervention research and includes 7
tenured or tenure-track faculty and 30 research faculty.  The Department is
committed to developing and mentoring early career investigators and trains
both Master’s and doctoral students in behavioral and social health
sciences.  The Department is highly invested in maintaining an inclusive
community of faculty and students and embraces diversity along its many
dimensions—including race, ethnicity, sex, religion, socio-economic
background, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical ability, and

Applications are encouraged from well-established scholars with expertise
in health communications, mobile health (mHealth) interventions, or
implementation/dissemination of behavioral interventions.  Priority will be
given to candidates whose work complements our strengths in one of the
following health behavior topics: obesity, physical activity, addictive
behaviors, or HIV.  We are particularly interested in candidates whose work
addresses understanding and eliminating health disparities.  A doctoral
degree in a behavioral and/or social science (or another degree with
experience in behavioral research) is required.  Candidates should have a
strong track record of obtaining external funding for their research
programs.
