The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) mobilizes communities to create equity
and justice for people living with and vulnerable to HIV and related
chronic diseases. We envision a world in which people living with HIV and
related chronic diseases will thrive, and new HIV infections will be rare.
Our work focuses on improving health equity, preventing new cases of HIV,
serving as a collaboration and knowledge center, and being a bold voice for
change.



In order to achieve our goals, we are seeking one individual to serve as
our Associate VP of Housing; Executive Director Center for Housing &
Health. With leadership responsibilities for all AIDS Foundation of Chicago
(AFC) and Center for Housing and Health (CHH) housing programs and
services, the Associate Vice President of Housing will manage program
development, budgeting, planning, implementation and priority setting for
the department.  The position will serve as the Executive Director for the
Center for Housing and Health, a supporting organization of AFC. The
Associate Vice President will ensure the success and sustainability of
existing housing programs, such as Permanent Supportive Housing, Housing
Stabilization and Emergency Assistance, Behavioral Health services, special
projects, as well as the development of new and innovative programming.



This key leader will promote coordination, cooperation, and excellent
customer service as core values in working with all of AFC and CHH's
diverse constituents, including service recipients, delegate agencies, and
funding partners. The AVP will provide leadership and vision to implement
citywide efforts to build on AFC's decade-long record of improving the
lives of highly vulnerable formerly homeless people living with HIV and
chronic diseases.



Principal functions and responsibilities of this position include the
following:



*Departmental Management and Development*

   - Spearhead departmental strategic plan and corresponding work plans to
   achieve AFC's housing and behavioral health goals;
   - Define strategies the department will pursue to fulfill its goals;
   direct proposal development, proposal submission, and the delegation of
   responsibilities for new and continuing initiatives;
   - Oversee the departmental annual and programmatic budgets;
   - Ensure the departmental protocols, procedures, and administrative
   functions are established and adhered to;
   - Ensure achievement of programmatic and financial outcomes associated
   with awarded grants and contracts;
   - Ensure continuity across Housing programs and services;
   - Collaborate with AFC's policy department on local, state and national
   issues related to housing and homelessness, including serving as a
   spokesperson on policy issues.

*Staff Supervision*

   - Provide supervision and adequate resources to staff, volunteers,
   and/or interns;
   - Provide individuals with opportunities for professional and personal
   growth;
   - Establish expectations and provide direction and consultation in
   meeting expectations, facilitate team meetings, and ensure departmental
   participation in the performance review process.

*Monitoring and Reporting*

   - Oversee program monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance
   activities;
   - Ensure ongoing quality management and improvement plans are in place.

*Collaboration and Partnerships*

   - Lead and foster city-wide interagency collaboration; facilitate
   internal and external groups as needed;
   - Ensure high standards for contract compliance, including
   sub-contracts, with delegate agencies;
   - Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships to achieve the
   department's goals;
   - Serve as a visible spokesperson for AFC and CHH and act as a prominent
   leader among stakeholders and in the Chicago community.

*Other*

   - Promote and uphold agency policies and procedures;
   - Assist with agency-wide activities as directed, including Annual
   Meeting, AIDS Run & Walk, World of Chocolate, and others;
   - Assist with other AFC activities as requested;
   - Perform other duties as assigned.

*Qualifications:*



*Minimum Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree in the Human Services field (i.e., Psychology, Sociology,
Public Health, Social Work) or Business with a minimum of 10 years of
commensurate experience OR Master's degree or higher in Business or the
Human Services field (i.e., Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Social
Work) with a minimum of 7 years of commensurate experience.



PLUS a minimum of 4 years in a management and leadership role.



3 years experience working with housing programs and familiarity with
budgeting, contracts, and funding requirements.



*Preferred Qualifications*

Master's degree or higher in the Human Services field (i.e., Psychology,
Sociology, Public Health, Social Work) or Business with a minimum of 10
years of experience with increasing responsibility in housing, health, or
social services.



5 or more years staff supervisory experience.



2 or more years experience conducting presentations and writing reports.



5 or more years working with housing programs and familiarity with
budgeting, contracts, and funding requirements.



Established networks and contacts in the field.



*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*

Requires strong team building, coaching and developing skills.  The ability
to deliver presentations and willingness to lead productive meetings.
Demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to execute budgets. Solid
verbal/written communication skills as well as diversity awareness are key
to success in this role.
