This position is a Study Director and a member of the Research Project
Management Services Unit of the Center for Survey Research. The Study
Director leads the development and implementation of all research
activities from sampling and questionnaire design through dataset
preparation and analysis for the Center’s research projects. The Study
Director is responsible for development of the proposal including statement
of work and budget for Center projects. Maintains and modifies the work
scope and monitors costs throughout the project. Serves as the primary
representative for the Center to internal and external stakeholders.
Designs and conducts analyses to evaluate data quality and cost
effectiveness and develops interventions to maximize quality and cost
effectiveness. Identifies and implements process improvements and
innovations to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of management
procedures. Conducts, publishes, and presents original methodological
research and increases the Center’s visibility and recognition as a leader
in the field of academic survey research.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to build high-performing teams
and to lead in a team-managed environment with minimal hierarchy. Must be a
self-starter with excellent problem solving skills and has the ability to
develop innovative solutions to challenges. The individual promotes
extraordinary organizational performance by bringing positive energy and
enthusiasm, and is able to work effectively with a diverse set of internal
and external clients. Must be able to effectively manage competing
deadlines in a highly dynamic environment and has a high level of attention
to detail.
