Colleagues:
The U.S. Census Bureau is pleased to announce the creation of a central
translation office that will oversee the translation work of the entire
agency. This is a brand new office that will employ staff comprising
in-house translators, contract translators, project managers, and language
research coordinators.
As part of implementation, we are recruiting an individual at the GS-14
level who will serve as the Office Chief. This individual will oversee the
translation/language work of major census and survey operations and serve
as a subject mater expert for language-related activities, non-English
public use materials, and reports. Once on board, the Office Chief is
expected to play an active role in hiring office staff and leading the
translation office to full implementation at the agency-level.
The finalized vacancy announcement listed below will open on *Friday, November
6, 2015, and will close at 11:59 p.m., EST, on Tuesday, November 17, 2015*.
