*T**he NYC Leadership Academy (NYCLA**)* (www.nycleadershipacadmy.org) is a
nationally recognized, independent nonprofit organization committed to impr
oving academic success for students by strengthening the quality of school l
eadership and practice nationwide. In New York City, NYCLA develops and impl
ements rigorous, experiential school leadership development programs that pr
epare and support educators to be change agents. Through its national cons
ulting practice, NYCLA provides strategic guidance, capacity building tr
aining, and technical support to states’ education departments, school distr
icts, universities and nonprofits, improving schools, accelerating learning
and addressing local needs.



*JOB SUMMARY*

The NYC Leadership Academy is seeking an associate director experienced and
interested in education research and evaluation. The Associate Director of R
esearch & Evaluation, reporting to the Senior Director of Research &
Evaluation, will contribute to the Leadership Academy’s goal to investigate
and communicate the impact of NYCLA’s work through the consistent collection
and analysis of multiple sources of data. This role also involves engaging
with clients and stakeholders to help them use evaluation to inform program
decisions. This person must exhibit maturity, integrity, a positive attitude
and grace under pressure. The newest member of our team will be a self-star
ter, has the ability to summarize data in a clear and engaging manner, work
collaboratively, pay attention to detail, complete assignments on time and
be adaptable to changing priorities. Specific responsibilities include:



*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

·         Developing evaluation plans and serving as project manager for
multiple data collection efforts

·         Collaborating with Database Manager, internal program teams, and
client stakeholders

·         Developing data collection instruments such as surveys and intervi
ew guides

·         Collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data

·         Communicating evaluation and research results to a wide audience
with variable research experience and expertise





*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:*

·         A  master’s  degree  with  a  strong  focus  on  social  science
research  methods  (both  qualitative  and quantitative) or an equivalent
combination of education and related work experience

·         At least 3 years’ experience in a research or evaluation work envi
ronment

·         Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the
ability to summarize complex data

·         Experience conducting focus groups and interviews

·         Solid foundation in qualitative methodology

·         Experience conducting basic statistical analysis

·         Experience collecting, tracking, and managing multiple sources of
data

·         Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online survey
products

·         Some project management experience
