*Organization Overview*

The US Health Division has helped shape healthcare policies that have
benefited millions of Americans, while improving the efficiency and
effectiveness of many government programs.  Federal government agencies,
such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services, and National Institutes of Health call on
us to help launch and evaluate their key programs.  We also help change
behaviors affecting health by directing communication programs that address
substance abuse and mental health services.



 *Job Summary*

The Senior Associate/Behavioral Health Research and Evaluation will assume
a lead role in directing and conducting research and evaluation activities
for the USH Behavioral Health Practice. Research will include both
qualitative and quantitative methods.  They will design evaluations of
different sizes and level of complexity for various clients, including
SAMHSA, CDC, NIH and ONDCP. Direct and conduct process and outcome
evaluations at the program, organizational, and community levels.  Create
and implement evaluation protocols and practices for a range of behavioral
health organizations, agencies, and stakeholders. Responsibilities also
include designing and coordinating behavioral health surveys; translating
research findings to meet audience needs; and utilizing mental and
substance use disorder data sets, e.g., TEDS, NSDUH.  Staff must ensure
that all research projects are conducted with sound methods and techniques.



*Key Responsibilities*

   - *Senior Associates* direct and manage complex components of large
   mental health and substance use research and evaluation projects or series
   of smaller projects with responsibility for budget management, project
   deliverables, client relations, and staff supervision.  Set priorities to
   ensure the completion of projects in an accurate, timely and cost efficient
   manner.
   - *Senior Associates* assume significant leadership role in business
   development by providing technical expertise.  Make significant
   scientific/technical contributions to sales and proposal efforts in
   accordance to the Division’s business development plan.
   - *Senior Associates* direct and establish policies and protocols to
   carry out research and provide technical guidance to less senior staff
   through application of advanced techniques, concepts, and methods related
   to prevention, treatment, and recovery research and evaluation in the
   mental and substance use disorders fields.  Prepare methodological reports
   and findings with responsibility as the senior technical writer.  Serve as
   the primary reviewer of the analytical and technical writing of less senior
   staff.
   - *Senior Associates* maintain an industry presence as a subject-matter
   resource by publishing  in peer reviewed journals and/or by presenting at
   annual conferences and meetings.  Has name recognition.
   - *Senior Associates* collaborate with peers within and across Divisions
   of the Company to identify new research approaches and potential markets
   for those services.
   - *Senior Associates* identify and recruit substantive senior staff and
   actively participate in the mentoring of Associates and less senior staff.


*Minimum Qualifications*
MA/MBA with 13-15 years OR PhD with 8-10 years of experience conducting
studies to improve the effectiveness of behavioral health care.



 *Other Requirements*:

Must have proven technical expertise, experience in business development
and client relationship management.  Supervisory/staff development and
writing skills (proposal development) also required.
