Call for Instructors of Survey Methodology, Data Science and Statistics
2016 PSI Asia-Pacific Summer Institute
(Seoul, South Korea - July 4 to July 29, 2016)

There is a need for instructors of data science, survey methodology and
statistics at the 2016 PSI Asia-Pacific Summer Institute for Data Science,
Survey Methodology and Interdisciplinary Research & Applications (*PSI
Asia-Pacific*) to be held in Seoul, South Korea from July 4 to July 29,
2016 for university students and professionals across Asia-Pacific. Find

The PSI International Working Group requests your *pro bono *instruction
for students and professionals in Asian countries in transition. The
Working Group consists of PSI founding members of American Association for
Public Opinion Research, American Association for the Advancement of
Science, American Evaluation Association, World Association for Public
Opinion Research, and European Survey Research Association as well as
members of Statistics without Borders (SWB) of American Statistical
Association.

Instruction for the 4-week-long PSI courses is modeled after the 68-years
old Summer Institute at the University of Michigan, a renowned
international training program of survey methodology, as well as Joint
Program in Survey Methodology of University of Maryland. PSI target
beneficiaries are graduate students and professionals in Asian countries
who would benefit from survey methodology and statistical training that
involves fundamental and advanced courses. The courses to teach include:
sampling theory and applications, statistics primer, data science, survey
methodology, census methods, questionnaire design, computer-assisted
collection and analysis of survey data, business survey methodology, health
survey statistics, education survey methodology, R statistical computing,
data visualization, and statistical use of administrative records. English
is the official language of instruction.

Room will be provided to instructors, but instructors will need to cover
meals and most of their travel cost unless supported by their affiliated
