The USDA Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) is looking to identify
experienced professionals to serve in a full-time, permanent position as a
Strategic Planning and Program Evaluation Officer.  We are seeking to
attract outstanding candidates with experience in program evaluation,
performance management, strategic planning, and measuring and evaluating
the impacts of investments in science and research.   The position will be
located with OCS, which is a Staff Office under the USDA Research,
Education, and Economics (REE) Mission Area.  In this role, the selected
candidate will support the Chief Scientist in providing strategic
coordination of the science that informs the Department’s and the Federal
government’s decisions, policies and regulations informs the Department's
and the Federal government's decisions, policies and regulations that
impact all aspects of U.S. food and agriculture, related landscapes, and
communities.



In particular, we are seeking candidates with knowledge skills, abilities,
and competencies such as:

·Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods used for assessing and
improving scientific program or systems effectiveness;

·Demonstrated ability to identify and develop program monitoring and
evaluation tools;

·Demonstrated ability to manage initiatives; and,

·Expertise in oral and written communication related to program evaluation.
