Lund University


The Centre for Economic Demography is presently seeking to fill up to four post-doctoral
positions in Economic Demography. The positions are full-time with a two-year limit of
tenure.

The Centre for Economic Demography is an interdisciplinary research unit at the Lund
University School of Economics and Management consisting of about 30 researchers and 20
PhD-students from Economic History, Economics, Social Medicine, Social Work, Sociology,
and Statistics. Most of the research performed is based on individual life-course
histories linked to change and variation in social and economic policies and life
circumstances, often in international collaborations. For more information,

The post-doctoral researchers will work together with senior researchers within any of the
following four research areas:

1) Family formation and income development across the educational gradient

2) Educational careers and economic success among first and second generation immigrants

3) Parental education, income and child health

4) Early childhood, education and income development



Basis of assessment:

Scholarly proficiency is the main requirement for employment. Applicants must have a
completed (conditional at the time of employment) PhD in Demography, Economic History,
Economics, Social Medicine, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics or in a related discipline.
Applicants must show a high degree of research expertise as manifested in the quality of
their PhD dissertation and other publications. The applicant's expert knowledge of STATA,
SAS and other programming languages,  experience of working with large scale panel
databases and surveys, and knowledge of advanced applied statistical methods and
econometric techniques is also considered. Excellent English writing skills are required.



The salary of post docs depends on personal qualification and lies around 35 000 SEK per
