The Department of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara
invites applications for a position in immigration at the rank of Assistant
Professor. We seek a colleague who will increase the Department’s graduate
and undergraduate teaching capacity in quantitative methods, and we are
particularly interested in scholars of Latin American immigration. The
ideal candidate will have an active research agenda, a strong commitment to
quality teaching, and a substantive research agenda that complements one or
more of the Department’s areas of strength. We especially encourage
applications from candidates who can contribute to the diversity and
excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and

University of Massachusetts-Amherst. The Department of Sociology invites
applications for two tenure-track position beginning Fall 2015 at the
Assistant/Advanced Assistant Professor level. One position is Open with
strong preference for a candidate whose research and teaching address Law,
Crime, and Incarceration. The second position is Open although some
preference may be given to candidates whose research and teaching address
any of the following areas: (1) Class Inequality, (2) Quantitative
Methods/Demography, (3) Textual Analysis using the Internet, and (4)
Culture and Identity. The department has a strong Ph.D. program and
candidates should be interested in making significant contributions to that
program. The University seeks to increase the diversity of its
