Syracuse University. The Department of Sociology in the Maxwell School of
Citizenship & Public Affairs invites applications for an Advanced Assistant
Professor or tenured Associate Professor in the Sociology Department and
faculty associate in the Syracuse University Aging Studies Institute.
Candidates should have an active program of research in the sociology of
aging and the life course. The exact areas of specialization are open, but
preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to other
strengths in the sociology department. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in
sociology or a related discipline by the time of appointment and must show
success in or strong promise of scholarly achievement and productivity, as
well as a commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching. We will begin
reviewing applications on September 15th and continue until the position is
filled.

interest, vita, and one publication or writing sample on line.

Candidates will also be asked to provide the email addresses of three
specific people who will provide letters of recommendation; other materials
will be requested if needed.
