*Job Summary: *

The Sr. Research Associate will independently manage and oversee a variety
of research projects and
dissemination activities and collaborate with others in the field to
support a broad research agenda to
advance policy, practice, and systems change in child welfare.

Essential Responsibilities:

. Work directly and in close collaboration with Casey staff and
jurisdiction leaders,
national experts, and constituents to design, plan and coordinate all
aspects of
research studies including managing multiple projects independently from
start to
finish. This includes overseeing research contractors and budgets,
developing project
goals and project design, creating timelines, conducting statistical
analyses, and
satisfying Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements.

. Lead dissemination efforts of research products and findings, including
but not limited
to working directly with external and internal public policy staff,
communications
directors, other researchers, and child welfare leaders. Package research
results for
different audiences, including peer-reviewed publications, book chapters,
reports,
newsletters/listserves, webinars, conference presentations, policy briefs,
and other
research documents. Make presentations to and lead research briefings with
internal
and external audiences.

. Serve as an expert resource to internal groups as well as external
constituents,
providing varying levels of support and leadership. This may include
collaboration on
projects, providing training, ongoing oversight, technical assistance and
project
management.

. Interface with external and internal Public Policy staff to identify and
conduct policy-
relevant research, policy analysis, and evaluations. Highlight and
summarize the public
policy implications of research findings for dissemination.

. Assist the Research Directors and Managing Director in collaborating and
coordinating
with other funders and researchers in the field to develop a national
research agenda
for child welfare. Identify opportunities for leveraging funding and
developing
partnerships for moving the research agenda forward.

. Represents Research Services at key national meetings to contribute and
stay current
about developments in the field of policy, practice and research.

*Qualifications:*

PhD in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or other related field preferred,
plus 4 years managing or directing research projects in human services.
Master’s Degree with 7 years and significant leadership experience may be
substituted.

Advanced knowledge of research methods (both qualitative and quantitative)
and statistical analysis, with a solid grounding in program evaluation.
Experience with geographic information systems is preferred.
