Applications are invited for Research Fellowships/Senior Research
Fellowships and Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Centre for Family and
Population Research at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National
University of Singapore for commencement as soon as possible, preferably by
September 2014.



The Centre for Family and Population Research in the Faculty of Arts and
Social Sciences (FASS) in NUS is dedicated to scientific advancement of
research and training in the study of trends, determinants, and
consequences of family and population changes, particularly changes in
Asia. All positions are intended for outstanding active researchers from
around the world, to work on research projects in the social sciences and
humanities. Interdisciplinary interests are encouraged. The fellows will
provide support for research projects, and conference organization and/or
attendance (on application and subject to approval).  Successful candidates
will be a PhD holder or is awaiting conferment (the PhD must be awarded by
the time the post is taken up). Candidates should have research interests
that fit the Center’s research areas. Interested candidates should possess
strong research skills and publication record. Familiarity with statistical
analysis and software is an advantage.

1. The appointment will be tenable for a period of two years at the first
instance (one year for postdoctoral fellowship), with the possibility of
extension up to 2016.

The Brown University Department of Sociology seeks applications for an
open-rank tenure-track appointment, to begin July 1, 2015, with a
specialization in the sociology of population. Within this focus, we
particularly seek candidates who conceive their work broadly, whose work
contributes toward the larger discipline of sociology, and who can engage
creatively with other areas of strength in the Department, such as
development, environment, health and medicine, organizational studies,
urban studies, demography and spatial analysis. The appointee will hold an
appointment concurrently as Faculty Associate of the Population Studies and
Training Center. Applicants should have strong quantitative research skills
and be qualified to teach courses at both the graduate and undergraduate
levels in areas related to the sociology of population. A successful senior

The Senior Project Associate position involves designing and managing
multiple and diverse types of quantitative research, evaluation, and
assessment projects; gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety
of research data, which may include selecting data samples and preparing
surveys and interview protocols; analyzing collected information according
to established statistical methods; and preparing reports, charts, tables,
and other visuals with a team of associates and assistants. Based on the
analysis, presentation, and distribution of related research data, the
Senior Project Associate makes informed, strategic, high-level
recommendations to clients in the Jewish education and Jewish nonprofit and
philanthropic sectors via written reports, presentations, facilitation,
coaching, and advising.
Responsibilities
· Design, organize, plan, and direct the data collection, research,
analysis, database systems management, and deliverables for a range of
national and international client projects on Jewish education, nonprofits,
and philanthropy.
· Maintain quality assurance, accuracy, and confidentiality in regard to
data integrity and the use and implementation of appropriate analytic
methods.
· Present complex issues in a creative and non-technical manner via

Required Qualifications

· Proficiency in a range of quantitative analysis and research programs,

countries.
· At least 3 years of experience in mid- to senior-level positions in the
Jewish communal sector in research and/or program evaluation.

*Responsibilities: *This position has 50% teaching and 50% research
responsibilities. Qualified applicants must have a demonstrated record of
scholarship focusing on the societal and spatial dimensions of contemporary
environmental change. Expertise in areas such as the interrelationships
between development and the environment; sociological examinations of
climate change; societal impact on ecosystems, and changing patterns of
land use, is particularly welcome. All methodological approaches designed
to advance quantitative spatial analysis are welcome, including but not
limited to spatial statistics, GIS and multiple methods. Ability to

The U.S. Social and Behavioral Sciences Team (SBST) seeks exceptionally
qualified individuals to serve as Fellows for 2014-2015. Individuals who

JOB SUMMARY:



The SBST helps federal agencies increase the efficiency and efficacy of
their programs and policies, by harnessing research methods and findings
from the social and behavioral sciences. The team works closely with
agencies across the federal government, thinking creatively about how to
translate social and behavioral science insights into concrete
interventions that are likely to improve federal outcomes and designing
rigorous field trials to test the impact of these recommendations.



The SBST is a small, multi-disciplinary group of experts, coordinated by
the Office of Science and Technology Policy and organized under the
Performance Improvement Council at the General Services Administration
(GSA). Collectively, the team has a diverse mixture of scientific expertise
from fields such as economics, psychology, and statistics, as well as
experience performing rigorous evaluations in complex operational settings.
As the SBST works to pursue the agencies' priority goals, policy areas
include health, education, tax and finance, housing, environment, criminal
justice, and so forth (see http://www.usa.gov/directory/federal/ to learn
about federal departments and agencies).



Fellows must possess a unique set of technical and professional skills.
This includes extensive knowledge of at least one field within the social
and behavioral sciences, the ability to creatively apply research knowledge
within the federal government setting, the ability to manage the day-to-day
operations of a field trial, and exceptional communication and
