DATA ANALYST



The Futures Institute, a sub-contractor to the MEASURE Demographic and
Health Surveys (DHS) project, is seeking to hire a Data Analyst to support
analytical studies on demographic and health issues in developing countries.
Duties include: conducting analyses of large survey data sets using
statistical software packages, and assisting in preparing tabular and
graphic materials of statistical data using spreadsheet and related computer
programs. The position is based at the MEASURE DHS project at Macro
International in Maryland, USA, and the analyst will report to the Director
of Research in the Demographic and Health Research Division of ICF
International.



Qualifications:



  1. Masters degree in a social science or health-related field.
  2. Strong knowledge of statistical techniques, including multivariate
     methods.
  3. Experience in using statistical software packages, such as Stata, SPSS,
     or SAS.
  4. Experience in analyzing data from large social surveys.
  5. Knowledge of developing country population and health issues.
  6. Ability to work successfully in teams and with people of diverse
     cultural backgrounds.
  7. The analyst may be required to travel to developing countries as needed
     (up to 15% of time).
