The DEMOSOC unit within the Universitat Pompeu Fabra seeks to fill
a post-doctoral position linked to an ERC financed five-year
research project on cross-national comparisons of changing family
dynamics and polarization. The principal investigator is Professor
Gøsta Esping-Andersen and includes scientific collaboration with
major centres of demographic research in Europe and the United
       States.

We are looking for a young demographer, economist or sociologist
with strong quantitative skills. The candidate must be in
possession of the PhD, at least prior to September, 2013. The
position will have a duration of 2 years (with a possible one-year
renewal), with an annual stipend of 31.000-32.000 Euros.

The research programme includes three major sub-projects related
to, respectively, marital behaviour and couple stability,
fertility, and parenting practices. We are in particular looking
for candidates working on parenting and child outcomes. Successful
candidates should have substantial experience analyzing
       longitudinal micro-data.

Interested candidates can contact the principal investigator for
more details by email: gosta.esping at upf.edu. Candidates for the
two positions should send a CV and letters of recommendation
