The University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Public Health is Hiring
Tenure-Track Assistant Professors 

The Division of Community Health Sciences (CHS) in the UIC School of Public
Health invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. 
Responsibilities include teaching graduate level courses, advising master's
and doctoral students, developing an externally funded research agenda, and
contributing to the service mission of the division and the school. 

This search will remain open until filled. Review of applications will begin
October 29, 2012. 

Anticipated starting date is Fall 2013. Salary is commensurate with
experience and qualifications. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

Duties: 
Teaching graduate level courses, advising master's and doctoral students,
developing an externally funded research agenda, and contributing to the
service mission of the division and the school. 
Qualifications: 
Minimum Qualifications: 
. A doctoral degree earned prior to the hiring date in community or
population health (in one or more areas across the life course),
social/behavioral sciences, health promotion, public health or a closely
related field. 

. Evidence of scholarly productivity and potential. 

. Strong potential for graduate level teaching and mentoring. 
Preferred Qualifications: 
. A defined research focus consistent with the CHS mission. 

. Evidence of potential for obtaining independent external research funding.


. Enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring graduate students. 

. Evidence of successful graduate-level teaching. 

. An MPH degree from a CEPH-accredited program or School of Public Health 

. Willingness to contribute to the growth and success of CHS through service
activities. 

. Unique qualities that offer CHS an opportunity to expand its vision and
impact.
