*UC Berkeley Graduate Student Researcher Needed to Help with Study of the
American Right*

Seeking to hire a 50% Graduate Student Researcher (beginning Fall semester,
2009) to assist with a study of the current American right in the context of
significant right-wing movements in other countries in the twentieth
century.

Applicants must be UC Berkeley graduate students who are very familiar with
contemporary and recent American politics. She or he must also be
comfortable designing and carrying out research assignments of several
different kinds with a high degree of independence. The research methods
used for this study are eclectic and will require a GSR with a broad range
of skills and the ability to turn over assignments in acceptable time
frames.


Here are some examples:

--Content analysis of 1950s and 60s high school texts.

--Tracking specific movements in national opinion polls over time.

--Research into foreign statutes.


Hours/rate:

Fall 2009: 20 hrs/week (50%) @ $16.74/hr (15 weeks).  Full fee remission
included.
