faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor level with interests in
demography and population studies</span></b><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black"> who can actively and innovatively
advance the missions of the University, the </span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:rgb(34,34,34)"><a href="https://pop.umn.edu/" id="gmail-LPlnk176273" style="color:blue;text-decoration:underline"><span style="color:black">Minnesota Population Center</span></a></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black"> (MPC),
and its affiliated colleges and academic units. This is an open-discipline/area
search. The tenure home will be determined based on the candidate’s
background/interests, in consultation with the appropriate colleges and
academic units, and in accordance with University policy. One-half of teaching
and service obligations will be fulfilled in MPC as part of the population
studies program.<span></span></span></p>

<p class="gmail-xmsonormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black">The successful candidate will: (1) have a PhD in a relevant
academic discipline; (2)continue and expand their own independent research
initiatives, as well as seek out and develop new interdisciplinary
collaborations, especially with early-career scholars; (3) have a strong record
of obtaining external funding (e.g., from NIH, NSF, or other public and private
sources) to support their independent and collaborative research initiatives;
(4) be an exceptional mentor, advisor, and teacher to post-doctoral, graduate,
and undergraduate students in and outside of demography and population studies;
(5) have a track record of working with diverse individuals, groups, and
communities as defined by the </span><span style="font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:rgb(81,81,81)"><a href="https://diversity.umn.edu/" id="gmail-LPlnk587744" style="color:blue;text-decoration:underline"><span style="font-size:10pt;color:black">University of Minnesota’s Office for

departments, research centers, and/or more targeted research and training
programs and be willing to assume similar leadership roles within MPC. 
The ideal candidate will also be eager to exploit synergies with the IPUMS data
