(PSTC) at Brown University is currently recruiting a two-year Postdoctoral
Fellow to start on or around July 1, 2018. <b>This position is sponsored by NIH
and contingent on continued funding.<span></span></b></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black"><span></span></span></p>

<p class="gmail-MsoNoSpacing" style="background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma,sans-serif"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma,sans-serif;font-size:10pt">Research at the PSTC is innovative and
interdisciplinary. It is distinguished by its commitment for collaboration
across disciplinary and institutional boundaries as well as its strong
portfolio of global research. The scope of PSTC research encompasses
traditional topics of interest to demographers, such as migration and family
processes, as well as a much broader range of issues, including environmental
change, social inequalities and health, gender, family structure, residential
segregation, and HIV/AIDS epidemic. Opportunities also exist to build upon
connections the PSTC has with other interdisciplinary units at Brown, such as
Watson Institute for International and Policy Affairs, Institute at Brown for
Environment and Society, Spatial Structures in the Social Sciences, School of
Public Health, Data Sciences Initiative, and more. Potential applicants are

culture of collaboration, postdoctoral fellows are expected to spend part of
their time working independently and part of their time working collaboratively
with one or more mentors from among our faculty affiliates. In addition,
postdoctoral associates are expected to coordinate or participate in relevant
working groups, regularly attend the weekly PSTC Colloquia and other PSTC
workshops and mentoring activities, present their work to the PSTC community,
present research at the Population Association of America (PAA) annual
meetings, and submit one or more articles for publication. They are also

permanent residents of the United States at the time of application. Applicants
must have a Ph.D. in anthropology, economics, sociology, demography, or a
