Health Science Officer position is located within the Clinical Science Research
and Development (CSR&D) Service, Office of Research and Development
(ORD), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Central Office, and is based
in Washington, D.C. CSR&D supports human subject research, including
interventional and effectiveness studies, and clinical, epidemiological
and technical studies of disorders and diseases of importance to the health of
Veterans. CSR&D emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to clinically
significant problems identified by healthcare providers and Veterans
to improve the quality of life for Veterans and the general public. Duties
include but are not limited to the following:<span></span></span></p>

     portfolio in a specific medical research area.<span></span></span></li>
 <li class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(33,33,33);margin-top:9pt;margin-bottom:9pt;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial"><span lang="EN" style="font-size:10pt;font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">Advises
     and supports the Director/Deputy Director of CSR&D in the planning,
     development and operation of the CSR&D service.<span></span></span></li>
 <li class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(33,33,33);margin-top:9pt;margin-bottom:9pt;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial"><span lang="EN" style="font-size:10pt;font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">Analyzes
     the needs, strategic plans, and goals of CSR&D and makes
     recommendations for new directions, initiatives, policies and procedures.<span></span></span></li>
 <li class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(33,33,33);margin-top:9pt;margin-bottom:9pt;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial"><span lang="EN" style="font-size:10pt;font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">Develops,
     refines and implements his/her respective portfolio within CSR&D.<span></span></span></li>

     studies, analyzes data, and presents results through presentations and/or
