The study examines the effects of phthalates, a group of chemicals used to soften plastics, in relation to behavioral outcomes and growth in young children. Our lab is a multisite study, with research currently being conducted in Seattle, WA; Rochester, NY; and Minneapolis, MN. Our San Francisco team is run by Dr. Nicole Bush and is supported by NIH R01 funding (<a href="http://psych.ucsf.edu/faculty.aspx?id=6920" target="_blank">http://psych.ucsf.edu/<wbr>faculty.aspx?id=6920</a>).<u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:18.08px;font-family:Cambria,serif">Applicants for the intern position must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher and have prior experience working in clinical or research settings with human subjects. Applicants must also be accustomed to working with children between the ages of 4 and 6 years old. Interns will gain substantive experience conducting study assessments with young children, along with training on anthropometric measurements and interviews with participants. In addition, interns will also gain exposure to laboratory meetings, participate in protocol development, and provide support for management of data.
