<p class="p1">TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN SOCIOLOGY: The Department of Sociology, Gerontology, and Gender Studies at California State University, Stanislaus, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The person appointed to this position will teach in the areas of: food, body, and gender, including courses in <i>Body Image and Society</i>, <i>Food and Culture in a Global Society, Thin and Fat: The Sociology of Eating Disorders, Men and Society,</i> and <i>Gender and Power,</i> as well as the core areas of the major, including <i>Social Inequalities, Research Methods,</i> and <i>Sociological Theory.</i></p><p class="p1"><br></p><p class="p1">Additional duties will include: effective student mentoring and advising, service to the department, college, and university, scholarly productivity, community outreach efforts and curriculum development for affiliated concentration. Effective teaching, scholarly productivity, and service to the university are required for retention, promotion, and tenure. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding. This is an academic year appointment. However, opportunities exist for an additional Summer and Winter Session appointments.
