<div dir="ltr"><p class="MsoNormal"><b><u><span style="color:black">Research Associate I</span></u></b><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black"></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">The Research Associate will be responsible
for quantitative data analysis and management, policy analysis, research and
policy evidence reviews and analytic writing for the<a href="http://diversitydatakids.org/" target="_blank">diversitydatakids.org</a> project. <a href="http://diversitydatakids.org/" target="_blank">diversitydatakids.org</a> is
a comprehensive information system and research project to monitor the state of
wellbeing, diversity, opportunity and equity for U.S. children. The goals
of <a href="http://diversitydatakids.org/" target="_blank">diversitydatakids.org</a> include
developing sound policy-relevant indicators of access to developmentally
appropriate opportunities across childhood contexts for children of all
racial/ethnic groups; conducting policy and data analysis identifying progress
and inequities in access to these opportunities; and rigorously analyzing and
disseminating federal, state and local evidence-based policies that address
unequal access. Identified priority policy areas for analysis include early
childhood education, work/family, housing and health policies.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">The Research Associate will conduct work in
three main areas: policy indicator development, and applied policy
research and research dissemination.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><u><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Examples of Key Responsibilities:</span></u><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black"></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">1. Conducts development of policy
indicators:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">*Conduct literature and policy reviews to
identify indicators in prioritized policy areas.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">*Contribute to conceptual development of
indicators, including theoretical and practical considerations.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">*Using the Current Population Survey, the
American Community Survey and other program administrative data sets (i.e.
Program Information Reports - Head Start):</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:Symbol;color:black">·</span><span style="font-size:7pt;color:black"> </span><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Download and prepare indicator files;
implement and document data cleaning protocols.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:Symbol;color:black">·</span><span style="font-size:7pt;color:black"> </span><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Generate federal and state-level indicators
of access, quality, and resources for selected federal social programs.</span></p>

systematic storage of all data, cleaning, input and output files based on data
management protocols.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:Symbol;color:black">·</span><span style="font-size:7pt;color:black"> </span><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Maintain detailed and organized records of
decisions made and methodology used to create indicators.</span></p>

ensure quality and accuracy of indicators.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">*Contribute to conceptualization and
development of research topics related to policy priority areas.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">*Conduct literature reviews to inform
research.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">*Conduct statistical analyses, including
both descriptive and complex data analyses using multivariate methods.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">*Contribute to interpretation of research
findings and peer-review articles.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">3. Conducts research dissemination:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">*Support dissemination of research and
analysis through contributions to the <a href="http://diversitydatakids.org/" target="_blank">diversitydatakids.org</a> website,
policy memorandums, technical documents, presentations and publications.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:Symbol;color:black">·</span><span style="font-size:7pt;color:black"> </span><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Website content development: assist in
conceptual development and contribute original content. Responsible for
uploading content and ensuring proper formatting on website.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:Symbol;color:black">·</span><span style="font-size:7pt;color:black"> </span><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Contribute to, and in some cases lead,
conceptualization and first drafts of research products, including
peer-reviewed journal articles, policy reports, and book chapters.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:Symbol;color:black">·</span><span style="font-size:7pt;color:black"> </span><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Develop infographics and one-pagers summarizing
research in brief, non-technical language. Edit technical research documents
and assist with writing publications that are reader-friendly and accessible to
the general public.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:Symbol;color:black">·</span><span style="font-size:7pt;color:black"> </span><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Contribute to development of presentations;
in some cases serve as lead presenter.</span></p>

development of webinars show casing <a href="http://diversitydatakids.org/" target="_blank">diversitydatakids.org</a> policy-relevant assessment and
indicator development.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><u><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Qualifications:</span></u><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black"></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Masters’ or ABD in public policy or social
science discipline. Candidates with Bachelor’s degrees in combination with
strong research and programming skills will be considered</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Strong quantitative research and data
analysis skills and programming in Stata (or other statistical analysis
software)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Prior experience conducting policy analysis
and expertise in one or several of prioritized policy areas is a plus</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Prior experience with database management
and documentation</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;color:black">Experience conducting literature reviews,
maintaining organized and detailed documentation of literature searches, and
