invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology to
join the Department of Political Science, Economics, and Sociology beginning in
fall 2016. We seek candidates who can contribute to our strengths in environmental
and pre-health education. We are especially interested in candidates who are
able to support and assist in the development of an undergraduate public health
program. Other substantive areas are open but might include social
stratification/mobility, gender/sexuality, racial/ethnic inequality, or
globalization/global issues. Candidates should also have a strong interest in
teaching Introduction to Sociology and in contributing to our general education
curriculum. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the College’s
interdisciplinary programs—Global and Comparative Studies, Urban Environmental
Studies, Human Rights and Conflict Studies, and Gender and Women’s Studies. A
PhD in Sociology is required by the time of appointment. Interested candidates

in the Department of Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley
invites applications for an Assistant Professor with a focus on Latina/o
studies in comparative contexts, discipline open. We define Comparative Ethnic
Studies broadly as work that deals with more than one distinct group or
location with the US as at least one anchor; that examines the intersection

of race and other systems of difference; or that theorizes race both
particularly and generally. Teaching duties include undergraduate and graduate
courses, including a course on research methods. The minimum qualification to
be considered an applicant for this position is the completion of all PhD or
equivalent degree requirements except the dissertation at the time of
application. A PhD or equivalent degree in Ethnic Studies or a related field is
required by the expected start date. The department seeks candidates whose

is recruiting for a tenure track position in the College of Medicine,
University of Manitoba at the rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor.
The position is in applied public health, with a focus on health policy. The
successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with administrative health
data held in the Population Health Research Data Repository. The Repository
includes population-based (i.e., virtually every resident in Manitoba)
individually-linkable data from health (ALL hospital discharge abstracts,
physician visits, prescription drugs), education (school grades, completion,
standardized tests), social services, etc.</span><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"></span></p>
