The candidate must have interest in the psychosocial, structural, contextual and behavioral factors associated with sexual health. We define sexual health broadly as a state of physical, emotional, and social well-being in relation to sexuality, and encourage research that utilizes a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, and encourages pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. The Assistant Research Scientist will be a member of the SexLab team, and will participate in several studies focused on sexual health with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS and LGBT health. He or she will also be mentored and encouraged to develop his/her own research projects and pursue his/her funded research. Our studies seek to identify innovative strategies to inform sexual health promotion interventions and decrease other sexuality-related health disparities. The Center is housed at the University of Michigan - School of Public Health, and has partnerships with community-based organizations, local health departments, and health service and advocacy groups. <u></u><u></u></span></pre>

Strong quantitative and/or qualitative skills and research experience are preferred. Applicant must also possess excellent communication and collaborative skills and be able to work flexibly as part of a team in a fast-paced research environment.
