<div dir="ltr"><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">The American Federation of Teachers
is seeking candidates for a position that will expand our work and advocacy on
behalf of children in schools and their communities. <br><br>As a labor union,
we want to develop strategies that will assure our members' perspective and
voice in children's health policy issues at the local, state and federal level
(with a focus on policies for schools). In addition, we want to expand our work
at the local level with community groups to advocate for children's health and
well-being and to develop cooperative programs. This position will be in the AFT
health and safety department in Washington DC. We are a small department of
three people. This work is new to us. Our primary focus to date has been in
occupational and environmental health. We welcome working with a new colleague
on children's issues and receiving new insights on our current initiatives. This
is a permanent position (not tied to any grant funding). If anyone has any
