<pre><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><br></span><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">The project concerns <b>subjective well-being (SWB) and demographic behaviour</b>, with a particular </span><br>
<span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">focus on fertility in advanced societies, across time and space. Its implementation relies upon </span><br><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">secondary data sources, both longitudinal and comparative in nature. The project is </span><br>
<span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">interdisciplinary and touches on several dimensions of social sciences, including demography, </span><br><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">economics, sociology, gender studies, psychology and social policy. </span><br>
<b><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Under the supervision of the PI, the Post-doc researchers will be responsible for the day-to-day </span></b><br><b><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">running of the project and contribute to its successful completion through data management </span></b><br>
<b><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">statistical analysis, writing up scientific papers, as well as dissemination of findings. The position</span></b><br><b><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">does not include any teaching. </span></b></pre>

<span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">• The candidates should have a strong postgraduate degree (or be close to final submission) </span><br><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">in a relevant area such as <b> demography, applied statistics, econometrics or economics, </b></span><br>
<span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><b>psychology, quantitative sociology, applied statistics, computer science</b> (or any related discipline) – and have </span><br><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><b>strong quantitative skills</b>. Knowledge of advanced applied statistical methods and </span><br>
<span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">econometric techniques, including panel data and multilevel regression techniques is </span><br><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">necessary. Expert knowledge of STATA, SAS and other programming languages is a benefit. </span><br>
<span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Knowledge of large scale data set, such as the GGS, EU-SILC, GSOEP, BHPS, Understanding </span><br><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Society, SHARE, HRS, HILDA, ESS or PSID, would also be an advantage. </span><br>
