fairer criminal justice system; promote effective program models and needed
supports for people with criminal justice histories; and change the
counterproductive laws and policies that create unfair barriers to the
successful reentry of people with criminal justice histories into our

training initiative designed to improve health care outcomes for HIV+/high risk
criminal justice involved individuals by providing cultural competency and
referral information to health care providers who serve them. The intervention
is based on the “academic detailing” model, whereby trainers
conduct one-on-one meetings with health care providers on evidence-based
practice to improve health care outcomes. These trainings will be augmented by
other communications and outreach strategies with providers.<u></u><u></u></span></font><u></u><u></u></p>
