The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">National</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Center</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>
for Health Statistics (NCHS) and AcademyHealth are seeking applications for their
2013 Health Policy Fellowship.<br>
<br>
FELLOWSHIP GOALS<br>
The aim of the fellowship is to foster collaboration between NCHS staff and
visiting scholars. The fellowship allows scholars to conduct new and innovative
analyses and participate in developmental and health policy activities related
to the design and content of future NCHS surveys and offers access to the data
resources provided by the CDC.<br>
<br>
Pre-doctoral scholars will have the opportunity to:<br>
-Gain access to funding and resources to work on their dissertation research
project;<br>
-Share their experiences by preparing a report on the approach and methodology
used for the project and experience using NCHS data systems; and<br>
-Work with NCHS staff on collaborative projects of mutual interest.<br>
<br>
Post-doctoral scholars and senior investigators will be afforded:<br>
-Time and funding to conduct their research, leading to the publication of at
least one journal article or NCHS publication; and<br>
-Opportunities to collaborate with NCHS staff on projects of mutual interest,
including participation in analytic or methodological development of projects
leading to publications.<br>
<br>
WHO SHOULD APPLY<br>
Applicants may be at any stage in their careers--from doctoral students to
senior investigators. Doctoral students must have completed course work and be
at the dissertation phase of their program. Interested applicants are strongly

The entirety of the fellowship must be completed at the NCHS headquarters in
