When I started graduate school, I never thought I might pursue a career in consulting. But after talking to several
McKinsey consultants, I realized I could apply the skills I developed during my PhD in a fast-paced and rewarding
environment, working with colleagues with diverse academic and professional backgrounds. I was excited to join McKinsey,
first as an intern, then as a full-time consultant. I hope to meet you on campus in the upcoming months!

We’re excited to meet you soon!

Hi Michael --

Thanks for thinking of us.  I think that you are quite right that demography students might be excellent candidates

for jobs that McKinsey might have to offer.

If you could specify a couple of possible times,  I'll ask our student services officer, Monique Verrier (cc'ed on this
message)

to arrange appointments with those who might be interested.  We are a small department so 3 or 4 graduate students would
be a high percentage.

If it works for you,  we have a seminar room at 2232 Piedmont that could be used for this.

Thanks.

       Hi Professor Mason,

I am Michael, a data scientist at McKinsey (I took your History C139B course back in Spring 2012). I wanted to
reach out and ask if you knew who would be the best person to speak to about career opportunities in the
Demography Department. McKinsey Analytics is coming to campus this week and I thought the Demography students
would be a great fit for the jobs we have.

       Sincerely,
       Michael
