JOB POSTING: HEALTH DISPARITIES RESEARCH ASSISTANT


We are seeking a Health Disparities Research Assistant to work with the
Principal Investigator (PI) on several research projects. The candidate
will help with analyzing large data sets to examine the effects of U.S.
social and economic policies on health disparities. This work involves
cleaning and organizing large data sets, carrying out regressions, and
creating tables and reports describing the results. The Research Assistant
may also conduct literature reviews on relevant topics in the public health
and economics literature. S/he will help compose research proposals to
request data access and to apply for human subject approval.

The PI is Dr. Rita Hamad, a faculty member at UCSF.  Examples of specific
projects include evaluations of the effects of U.S. education policies on
chronic disease, and the effects of U.S. poverty alleviation policies on
child health.
