Assistant Professor of Sociology, Tenure-Track, Concentration in Critical
Race Studies

*Location: *Oxford, Georgia

Located 36 miles east of Atlanta on Emory’s original campus in Oxford,
Georgia, Oxford College invites application for a: Tenure-track, assistant
professor of Sociology with a concentration in critical race studies open
to any methodological concentration. Responsibilities include three courses
in sociology each semester at the introductory and intermediate level.
Candidate’s specialization should complement the department’s existing
expertise in political economy, food and agriculture, and sustainability.

*QUALIFICATIONS*

A PhD in Sociology in hand by start date, strong interests in teaching
excellence at the undergraduate level, and an active research agenda
primarily in critical race studies, with possible secondary
specialization(s) in one or more of the following: gender, sexuality,
disability, and/or age.

*APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS*

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, CV, statement of
teaching philosophy, undergraduate and graduate transcripts (unofficial
acceptable), one-page statement outlining candidate’s commitment to
diversity, one-page research statement, and evidence of teaching
effectiveness (preferably with a summary and brief, one-page analysis of
student evaluations of teaching), and three confidential letters of
recommendation to this post. Complete applications with cover letters,
submitted by October 31, 2017 will receive full consideration.
