Branch (SPP), within OMB's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.
The mission is to promote the quality, integrity, and efficiency of the
statistical and scientific information collected, analyzed, and
disseminated by the Federal Government. It provides leadership of the
Federal Statistical System by long-range planning, policy and standard
setting, statistical program evaluation and review, and interagency and
international coordinatio

As a Statistician working for the Chief Statistician, your typical work
assignments will include the following:
*Assess and evaluate information collection requests, plans for combining
administrative and survey data, models of statistical indicators from
non-survey data available from the public and private sectors, approaches
for non-disclosure of confidential information, regulatory impact analyses,
and risk assessments
*Provides policy and technical oversight and evaluation of statistical
programs
*Evaluates a range of study designs using survey and non-survey data,
statistical methodologies, and models relating to demographic, social,
economic, and natural resource subjects
*Serves as expert advisor on matters of economic, analytic, and statistical
methodology, data quality and disclosure and risk assessment issues as
requested by OMB and EOP officials.
