*Subject:* FW: Job Posting - Applied Social Research

My research lab, the Applied Social Research Lab (ASRL) (soon to be the
Center for Excellence in Applied Social Research) at East Tennessee State
University, is advertising for a Research Assistant Professor. ASRL/CESAR
is an academic survey research center that works with ETSU's Office of
Institutional Research to fulfill institutional research needs, individual
faculty and departments to support research, and community and regional
clients through contract work.

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in sociology or closely related
social science discipline. The successful applicant for this position will
have training and experience in survey research methods. Previous
experience working in a private or academic survey research center is
preferred. Additional substantive specialization areas are desirable and
preference will be given to those whose research agenda aligns with the
Department of Sociology and Anthropology and CEASR. The anticipated
teaching load for this position is two courses per semester, although it
may vary in the first three years depending on the needs of the center (a
regular load is 3-3). The successful applicant will also be expected to
significantly participate in the development and growth of CEASR.

If you are interested, or know anyone who would be interested in this
position, please pass this email along. We particularly encourage minority
and female applicants. The full job posting can be found here (

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Best,
Kelly
