The Department of African and African American Studies at Duke seeks an
Africanist whose work is in any of the following disciplines: History,
Political  Science, Historical Sociology; including but not limited to
research in the areas of Material Cultural Studies; Migration Studies;
Development. Focus on sub-Saharan with a preference for East Africa.

Applicants must demonstrate a strong research concentration in African
Studies, and be conversant with current methodological and theoretical
issues.
