*SURVEY PROFESSIONAL: PROJECT MANAGER*



Research Support Services (RSS) is seeking a research professional to serve
as project manager on multiple projects in new and ongoing research.  RSS
is a full-service, small survey research organization based in Evanston
(Illinois), whose services range from design through execution of social,
health and policy research studies, both quantitative and qualitative. Our
clients are federal agencies, universities, non-profit organizations,
and larger survey research organizations.



RSS was founded in 1996, with the goal of conducting research that would
have an impact on improving living conditions for the most vulnerable
groups in society, which continues to be our guiding principle. We
specialize in studies with hard-to-reach samples.



The Project Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the
day-to-day execution of projects. This includes project planning, proposal
writing and project management while cultivating strong relationships with
clients. Project Managers also supervise data collection.





*RESPONSIBILITIES*



   - Contributes to proposal development and writing
   - Develops proposal budgets
   - Manages projects from start to end
   - Formulates, manages and analyzes budgets
   - Contributes to instrument design
   - Trains recruiters and interviewers


   - Manages and mentors staff
   - Tracks project deliverables and manages project teams for timely
   deliveries
   - Manages multiple clients and projects under tight concurrent deadlines
   - Analyzes and summarizes research results into research reports and
   public presentations



The successful candidate will:

   - Have excellent communication skills— both written and verbal -
   specifically how to distill issues, manage client expectations, and
   communicate in a timely manner under pressure


   - Be a self-motivated, proactive individual with exceptional
   organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy

·         Have knowledge of research methods including qualitative and
quantitative

·         Have experience managing complex participant recruiting efforts a
plus

   - Have a basic understanding of statistical/tabulation software, such as
   SPSS


   - Have effective planning skills and multi-tasking abilities

·         Fluency in Spanish preferred



*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE*

   - Master's degree required, PhD preferred
   - Five plus years in social science research
   - Demonstrated experience and success managing multiple complex projects
   concurrently
   - Experience in SPSS and NVivo preferred

·         Flexible number of hours (30 to 40 a week)

·         Ability to telework most of the week
