*Position Overview:*
The Solutions Specialist will work with our industry-focused Practices
using both our proprietary data resources in combination with client and
3rd party data to help our clients tackle their toughest business and
marketing issues:

•                 Pricing: elasticity, price bands/gaps, portfolio pricing

•                 Forecasting: category and product trends, new product
estimates and source of volume impact

•                 Assortment: optimal assortment, SKU rationalization,
portfolio management

•                 Advertising/Promotion: advertising effectiveness, matched
market testing

•                 Marketing optimization: market mix modeling, ROI



This position can be based in *Rosemont, IL or Port Washington, NY*


*Overall Responsibilities:*

•       Execute, under the direction of your supervisor, large-scale
analytical research projects through all stages including concept
formulation, determination of appropriate methodology, data extraction,
cleaning and manipulation, identification and execution of appropriate
analytic, statistical and modeling solutions, research execution and
analysis, and final research report.

•                 Support the development of findings and insight stories
for presentation to both internal and external clients.

•                 Make value-added contributions toward the improvement of
methodologies, processes, and analytics.

•       Collaborate to uncover potential for Analytics and Modeling-based
solutions, establish analytic capabilities, and develop analytic-based
products utilizing NPD Consumer and POS data, particularly store-level POS
data.

•                 Lead the creation of data extraction processes and
reports using SAS to be utilized as inputs into analytic projects.



*Qualifications:*

*     Minimum:*

•                 BA/BS degree.

•                 2+ years of experience in data analysis, custom
analytics, or ‘Big Data’ applications.

•                 Experience with SAS or other 4th Generation Programming
Language (R, SPSS, STATA, C#, or equivalent); strong SAS experience, VBA,
etc. programming experience a plus.

•                 Solid understanding of statistics.

•                 Strong Microsoft Office Skills with focus on MS Excel and
Power Point.



*     Preferred:*

•                 MS in quantitative field (statistics, mathematics,
economics, political science, psychology, etc.).

•                 Knowledge of analytical solutions such as forecasting,
marketing mix, price and promotion analytics, and optimization; hands on
experience a plus.

•                 Keen eye for detail and thoughtful investigation of data
before relying upon it.

•                 Strong ability to think through business applications of
quantitative work.

•                 Creative, Curious, Inquisitive mindset with a strong,
persistent quality orientation.

•                 Ability to mine large volumes of data into actionable and
accurate information.

•                 Ability to communicate ideas and analysis results
effectively both verbally and written.

•                 Persistent focus on creating impactful change

The ideal candidate must be able to conduct engaging and impactful
presentations that deliver value to the client while telling a compelling
story in a concise and polished manner to a diverse audience. Most
importantly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to the
customer and appropriately match the customer's needs with NPD’s products
and services, or be willing to direct the customer to the best solution.

broad range of decision influencers and decision makers within an
organization. The candidate will be able to effectively understand and
build relationships throughout the prospective customer's organization.
