*City University London’s *Maternal and Child Health Research
Centre*wishes to recruit a part time statistician with experience of
handling large datasets and statistical modelling to work on a project
to assess whether the outcome of pregnancy in England and Wales varies
by time of day, day of the week and season of birth. This is a question
which is high on the current maternity services agenda, To do this, it
is building on earlier work by City University London and partners in
England and Wales to use data linkage to enhance the scope of the data
available for monitoring maternity care and for research. The project is
funded by the National Institute for Health Research Health Services and
Delivery Research Programme.*

*The project is under way and the person appointed will work with the
project co-investigators to analyse the linked datasets, take part in
dissemination activities, including drafting articles for peer-reviewed
journals and wider dissemination activities to professional and lay
audiences and contribute to the overall activities of the project team.
The post is based in City University London’s offices in Islington, but
the analytical work will be done in the secure environment of the Office
for National Statistics’ Virtual Microprocessor Laboratory in Drummond
Gate, Pimlico.*

Applicants should be statisticians or data analysts qualified to at
least Masters level with experience of statistical data analysis in
health-related research or social research, preferably but not
essentially in the maternity or perinatal field. This project is
currently at 0.6 fte until March 2017

Closing date *11.59pm on February 4 2016. Interviews will take place on
