The Center for Postsecondary Research (CPR) in the Indiana University
School of Education seeks to appoint an *Assistant/Associate Research
Scientist, Research Associate, or Post-doctoral Research Analyst*. CPR
hosts the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), its affiliated
surveys, the Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP), and research
and service projects.



*Duties*

Principal responsibilities will be focused on NSSE and related surveys and
may involve work on SNAAP, and will include research and data analysis,
data management, mentoring and supporting graduate students, designing and
executing specialized analyses for institutional users, responding to other
user requests, preparing analytical reports and research papers,
contributing to efforts to assess the psychometric properties of surveys
and other data collection tools, reporting research results at user
workshops and professional conferences, and other duties related to
research and data management.



*Qualifications*

The position requires an earned Master’s degree, but an earned doctoral
degree by the time of appointment  in higher education, educational
research, the social or behavioral sciences, or a related field is strongly
preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years experience in institutional research or
applied research in higher education or a related area is highly desirable.
Preferred skills and abilities include some combination of the following:
knowledge of quantitative research design and data analysis including
multivariate statistics, survey methodology and psychometric theory; and
proficiency in statistical, spreadsheet, database, and word processing
software packages. Applicants must have strong analytical, writing, and
interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative
research environment.



The preferred start for the appointment is July, 2016.
